Who Should Apply?

Leadership Whidbey applicants are expected to be highly motivated, committed to being involved in the community, and interested in continuing their leadership journey by expanding their skills and connections.  Applicants must live or work on Whidbey Island.

What to Expect

Sessions are scheduled one-to-two times each month. Each educational day is experience-based and includes meetings with local leaders and subject matter experts, individual and group discussions or activities, and occasional site visits. Participants are expected to attend all sessions and engage fully in a Community Learning Lab team experience outside class time. The program schedule with dates can be found in the “Apply!” drop-down menu. Participants who successfully complete the program receive a Certificate of Completion and may earn academic credits in Leadership from Skagit Valley College.

Program Fee Information

  • Applications require a non-refundable $40 application fee.

  • The program fee for 2024-25 is $1500 for applications received by April 24th and $1900 thereafter. Program fees are due September 1, 2024.

  • Many employers cover some or all program fees as part of employee professional training opportunities.

  • Full or partial scholarship support is available for those who qualify.
